About the Sheikh
Sheikh Jamaludin Osman is one of Kenya's most respected Muslim preachers and the current Imam of Jamia Mosque in Nairobi — one of the oldest and most prominent mosques in East Africa.
Sheikh Jamaludin demonstrated an early passion for Islamic knowledge. His pursuit of sacred learning led him to the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia, where he immersed himself in classical Islamic sciences. He completed a Bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Hadith — the study of the Prophetic traditions.
Upon returning to Kenya, Sheikh Jamaludin took on the role of Deputy Imam at Jamia Mosque from 2019 to 2024, where he quickly became known for his eloquent sermons, deep knowledge, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His dedication to Islamic education and community development earned him the trust and respect of the congregation.
In 2024, he was appointed Imam of Jamia Mosque, Nairobi. In this role he leads the five daily prayers, delivers the Friday khutbah, and oversees the mosque's educational and outreach programs. He is deeply committed to da'wah — the call to understanding and practicing Islam — and regularly engages in interfaith dialogue, youth mentorship, and community welfare initiatives.
